It just keeps getting better!

Ohhh tremble before the mighty Miami 7!

Tremble I say!

Turns out the Muslim Islamosuperfascist terrorists weren't Muslims.

.... as more details emerge of a supposed terror plot interrupted by US authorities, the plotters and their half-baked plan seem less than deadly and more than a little ridiculous.
The seven alleged plotters were mostly unemployed men from a poor suburb of Miami who had no weapons, explosives or money, and were so disorganised they asked their "al-Qaida" contact for uniforms and boots for their "Islamic army", and a camera to take pictures of their target.

Meanwhile Florida Islamic leaders said the men were not Muslims, not linked to the local Islamic community and were members of a cult.

The camera the used to take their EVIL! TERRORIST! PICTURES! was given the.... FBI.

UPDATE: Jim Henley at Unqualified Offerings has a really interesting take on the Dreaded Miami Seven.

A group that the perky CNN newsreader Carol Lin says was planning a "chilling attack, just like 9/11".

And it turns out that the Islamosuperduperfascisterroists may (and Jesus, if it's true you don't have to bring me anything for Christmas this year) have been involved in a partly Christian cult.

As usual Rocco "My shadow may be a terrorist" DiPippo and his gang of children are wetting their pants in fear.

Note how the brave foks at the FBI "dismantled a domestic terror cell".

In a sting-type operation, the FBI planted an informant within the group of would-be terrorists. His work revealed that the seven men were intent on creating an 'Islamic Army' to terrorize and kill Americans.

Oooohhh just smell the fear. An "Islamic Army". With a video camera and a few pairs of boots.

The fear of the Dreaded Miami Seven.

I can't even write it with a straight face anymore.

Since when is taking pictures illegal? I can't wait until busloads of Japanese "terrorists" (posing as tourists) are arrested and shipped down to Guantanamo.

Putting the bald-faced LIE to this arrogant, audaciously arbitrary "War on Terror": Terrorists in Miami, Oh My!, by Robert Parry [Consortium News] ==== The Bush administration finally took action against alleged terrorists living in plain sight in Miami, but they weren't the right-wing Cuban terrorists implicated in actual acts of terror, such as blowing a civilian Cuban airliner out of the sky. They were seven young black men whose crime was more "aspirational than operational," the FBI said. ==== As media fanfare over the arrests made the seven young men, many sporting dreadlocks, the new face of the terrorist enemy in America, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales conceded that the men had no weapons or explosives and represented "no immediate threat." ==== But Gonzales warned that these kinds of homegrown terrorists "may prove to be as dangerous as groups like al-Qaeda." [NYT, June 24, 2006] ==== For longtime observers of political terrorism in South Florida, the aggressive reaction to what may have been the Miami group's loose talk about violence, possibly spurred by an FBI informant posing as an al-Qaeda operative, stands in marked contrast to the US government's see-no-evil approach to notorious Cuban terrorists who have lived openly in Miami for decades. ... ==== The evidence points to one obvious conclusion: the Bushes regard terrorism - defined as killing civilians to make a political point - as justified in cases when their interests match those of the terrorists. In other words, their moral outrage is selective, depending on the identity of the victims. ...

On a related note: An American Icon: Gore Vidal on Italy, Iraq - and Why He Hates George Bush ==== ... How is it, then, to live full-time in the United States? ==== "If you care about America it's dreadful," he said. "If you are making money you don't care. ==== "Benjamin Franklin was shown the new American constitution, and he said, 'I don't like it, but I will vote for it because we need something right now. But this constitution in time will fail, as all such efforts do. And it will fail because of the corruption of the people, in a general sense.' And that is what it has come to now, exactly as Franklin predicted." ... ==== Why is it so dreadful to live in America, I asked. ==== "We have been deprived of our franchise," he says. "The election was stolen in both 2000 and 2004, because of electronic voting machinery which can be easily fixed. We've had two illegitimate elections in a row ... ==== "Little Bush says we are at war, but we are not at war because to be at war Congress has to vote for it. He says we are at war on terror, but that is a metaphor, though I doubt if he knows what that means. It's like having a war on dandruff, it's endless and pointless. We are in a dictatorship that has been totally militarised, everyone is spied on by the government itself. All three arms of the government are in the hands of this junta. ==== "Whatever you are," he goes on, "they say you are the reverse. The men behind the war in Iraq are cowards who did not fight in Vietnam - but they spent millions of dollars proving that John Kerry, who was a genuine war hero whatever you think of his politics, was a coward. ==== "This is what happens when you have control of the media, and I have never known the media more vicious, stupid and corrupt than they are now." ...

each dictatorship needs bogeymans in its own house - and the AfroAmericans seem to be very "convenient" to use for that, no money, no power, no influence and already nearly the only faces you see when they whine about the increasing criminality in New Orleans...

may be some Joker in the coming show fight "election campaigns" - some evil black people lurking everywhere and hunting the good american whites needs a more powerful police state, i guess - and when you fear nearly everybody you might not be very interested in how the next election fraud will happen...

Kinda smells like a publicity stunt to me...

I don't know, perhaps not an outright stunt although I would not rule that out; but at least another 'whip the loyal retards into line by showing the war on information is still onging' sort of stunt.

Wake me up when the non-news is over.

More on the highly touted apprehension of the dubitably "nefarious" Miami 7 "terrorist cell". Can you say "ludicrously abortive, transparent attempt at NeoConNazi CAMPAIGN grandstanding"? ;-) [Nods to Again and JasonJ.] : Indictment of Suspected Terrorists Contains Little Evidence of Plot [Knight Ridder], AND Tall Stories: The Plot to Topple Chicago's Sears Tower Was Not All That It Seemed [The lndependent / UK] ==== The plan uncovered by the FBI last week proved little more than wishful thinking ...

Watch for more arrests. FBI has been holding these off until we get close to the election, and the primary is just five weeks away. And this is nothing like what you'll see in September and October! The bastards!

(Does anybody remember Jose Padilla? And that, on the day that Colleen Rowley was to appear on national TV before the 9/11 hearings? And who's big pasty-white face showed up instead, live-from Moscow, reporting the arrest of Jose-the-terrorist-who-was-"thinking"-of-a-dirty-bomb Padilla? The Crisco Kid, John Ashcroft!

Have I told you today how much I hate these bastards?

reminds me of the USSSUD - where exactly that is enough to put you in jail forever

"have reasonable grounds to believe" - US Patriot Act 2006, Section Sec. 3056A

btw: anybody knows if the "law" behind the arrests is based on that Patriot Act?
