Great! Everbody's Happy!

That link is a great find, Robert.

And check this out: the dam has finally broke at AmericaBlog.

All it took was for Israel to open up a second war front. Must have been jealous of the US, with its two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some fascists can't get enough of a good thing.

Of course, giving John Aravosis a little prodding surely didn't hurt. He's only been silent for 2 weeks since Israel kicked off its slaughter in Gaza.

Nice to see how our "staunch ally" Israel is now threatening to destabilize the *entire* Midle East with its massive overkill style of "collective punishment". Of course, as has been aptly pointed out, this may very well just be part of a "grand scheme" pre-arranged with the Bush Reich to facilitate further "Judeo-Christian" imperial conquests: Israeli Jets Strike Airport in Beirut ==== Israel struck targets in Beirut and south Lebanon today in retaliation for a cross-border assault by the guerilla group Hezbollah, prompting President Bush to express concern that the Israeli actions might "topple" the Lebanese government. ==== Hezbollah had surprised Israel with a bold daylight assault on Wednesday, leading Israel to respond by sending armored forces into southern Lebanon for the first time in six years. ==== Early on Thursday morning, Israeli warplanes fired missiles at the runways at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, shutting the airport and potentially stranding thousands of visitors at the peak of the tourism season. The Israeli military confirmed the strike, saying that the airport was a target because Hezbollah receives weapons shipments there. Israel also announced that its navy would blockade Lebanon's ports to cut off such shipments. ... ==== [Makes LOADS of "sense", eh? Of course, considering Israel's currently brutal, Nazi-like, hyper-aggressive mentality, it's clear that NO target is "off limits" to the "Army of the Chosen People", nor is any mode of retaliation -- directed or otherwise -- too savage in its utter disproportionality. Bomb downtown Beirut? Hey, some Hezbollah members must *surely* at least collect their mail or do occasional shopping there! Right??]

Here's a useful rule of thumb for debating disingenuous Zionists (yes, I know, that's redundant).

Godwin's Second Law:

As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of being wrongfully smeared as an anti-semite approaches one.

Tradition has it that once such a smear is made, the thread is finished and whoever mentioned the anti-semitism has automatically "lost" whatever debate was in progress.

Events move pretty fast when world wars get started; sometimes too fast to follow. It wouldn't be World War III if Russia wasn't invited.

What will Israel's next provocation be?

A little desperately needed background and connecting of the dots on that "rescue the captive soldier" ruse for Israel's brutalization of Gaza. Most of the media has conspicuously *omitted* any reporting of the instigating *Israeli* acts which *provoked* that Palestinian response:Bad Cop, Worse Cop, by Michael Shtender-Auerbach ==== ... The Israeli press is abuzz with theories that this cataclysm was all part of some larger plan, and that Mr. Olmert is using the abduction of Cpl. Gilad Shalit, who was abducted on the Gazan border almost three weeks ago, as a pretext for toppling the Hamas government. In fact, in the days and months leading up to Cpl. Shalit's capture, Israel began arresting and targeting Hamas ministers in Gaza. In rhetoric similar to that invoked to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq after 9/11, Mr. Olmert announced his intention to, "fight Hamas here and abroad." "Abroad" refers of course to Syria, where two Israeli fighter jets buzzed the home of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, apparently to send a warning that the Syrians are next. ==== Let us not mistake American disengagement for neutrality: all of the signs point to a U.S. administration that appears to be in full support of the Israeli agenda to topple Hamas. ... ==== In Tuesday's Washington Post, Ismail Haniyeh, Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority, took aim at the Bush administration's "sabotage" of democracy promotion in the Middle East -- at least for Palestinians. "The current Gaza invasion is only the latest effort to destroy the results of fair and free elections held early this year ... the stated intention of that strategy was to force the average Palestinian to 'reconsider' her vote when faced with deepening hardship; its failure was predictable, and the new overt military aggression and collective punishment are its logical fulfillment." Palestinians, he noted, "thought our pride in conducting the fairest elections in the Arab world might resonate with the United States and its citizens" -- but thought wrong. The Arab world cannot avoid seeing the irony for Mr. Bush's policy for democracy promotion in the Middle East. ...

RE: ML's Russia post

Well that's just lovely.

I'm sitting here contemplating how much glee the fundies must be feeling at this point. There is always an upswing in Christian joy when things go poorly in the ME. With the possibility of Russian involvement, the Gog or Magog (I forget which) in fundy speak.

Oh yes the self-fulfilling prophecies are well underway, but the part that is both sad and amusing at the same time is that the the End Timer's believe that great armies, led by Russia, will march on Israel, and the hand of God will literally destroy the attacking armies.

I think they might be in for a surprise.

I don't think 99.9% of Americans realize just how quickly this could escalate to a full global nuclear exchange. It could be a matter of days, or even hours.

It was a hell of a slugfest at AmericaBlog. KOS is still silent on this, too busy spending time speculating on LIEberman this and LIEberman that.

Having no particular religion in mind, let me just say: Godspeed, everyone.

yes, exactly that i thought watching Israel going postal...

It wouldn't be World War III if Russia wasn't invited.

<griiin> yes, exactly that i thought too - after the "herrenrasse"-thing and the "self-defense" and the "people without room", all arguments fine working together the conquest of the "land in the east"...

Stalingrad came to my mind...

so if the Israelis want to be the better Nazis - they also have to wait for Stalingrad...

"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of being wrongfully smeared as an anti-semite approaches one." ... ==== ML: Right on! Considering the extreme *relevance* of the descriptor "Nazi" these days, Godwin's "first" is clearly defunct. And I don't perceive it as the least bit "inordinate" to rightly label Israel's current campaign of utterly barbaric, massively disproportionate reprisals against civilian targets as inescapably Nazi-like! ==== Naturally, other countries (like our *own*) have also proceeded in similar manners at times. But Israel, by resorting to such unwarranted savagery, has totally squandered any remaining sympathy it might have had in the eyes of the world. The Holocaust is now long past, and the "victim" mentality typically espoused by that vicious state no longer cuts it, especially when that fanatically self-righteous nation appears bent on perpetrating a few Holocausts of its *own*! Fucking Zionist-Fascist pigs! ==== Incidentally, considering Israel's highly belligerent response to the nearly worldwide condemnation its brutality has aroused, I feel compelled to suggest that any *rational* scheme for "bombing nuclear sites" should assuredly be directed against Dimona and the "Hand of God" silos of the Mad Zionist homeland itself! >8^[

They're too busy watching "American Idol", etc. Meanwhile, Emperor Duhbya fiddles while the Midlle East burns. All I can say is, if a "Rapture" is imminent, I certainly hope that Worthless son-of-a-bitch and his criminal cronies are among the very first to go "Poof!" (Of course, by that I DON'T imply anything like a "heavenly" disembarkation, just "POOF!")

I think Israel's pathological behavior has surpassed the Nazis. The Nazis only lasted about 10 years or so; Israel has been imrpoving fascist Nazi strategies for an extra 50 years. They've also had 50 years more to come to their senses. Plus, the Nazis never had or threatened use of nuclear weapons.

Open Question:

How far into the game until the US shuts down the Internet? Thoughts?

Or do you think they'll keep it up for gathering of "intelligence?"

Some additional, crucial background details that utterly refute the "Conventional Wisdom" faithfully being propagated by the majority of the US mainstream media: The framing of Hizbullah, by Amal Saad-Ghorayeb [Lebanese-America University, Beirut] ==== Israel's response to its soldiers' capture is part of a hamfisted attempt to redraw the region's map ... [Details within.]

As I'm sure most of us suspected, it appears the initial report of Hezbollah entering Israel to attack and capture IOF racists is just more chosen BS. According to the Asian Times (not self-censored like US corporate media), it was Hezbollah that caught an Israeli military incursion INSIDE Lebanon's border:

It all started on July 12 when Israel troops were ambushed on Lebanon's side of the border with Israel. Hezbollah, which commands the Lebanese south, immediately seized on their crossing. They arrested two Israeli soldiers, killed eight Israelis and wounded over 20 in attacks inside Israeli territory.

Of course, western media omitted this fact. Lied to, yet again.

Why not? They lied us into Afghanistan and Iraq.

yes, but i guess, that was not a noble thing of the Nazis, but of Heisenberg et. al. There are rumors, that especially Heisenberg preferred to play stupid than to give the Nazis the nukes...
