I think he said something nasty about Zidane's bald spot

Italy wins with penalty kicks.

It was a great game, the Italians were superb. They simply would not allow France to remain in the box long enough to get anything going. The officials let the boys brawl it out which was fun to watch. I hate over-officiating.

Well played, and congratulations to Italy.

Now, onto the ugliness.

I was pulling for France just because it was to be Zinedine Zidane's last match. It was great when he scored early in the game and it seemed he would leave the world of soccer, win or lose, on a high note.

Until the 110th minute. A war of words with Italy's Marco Materazzi escalated to a Zidane head-butt to Materazzi's chest. He received a red card and was booed as he left the pitch. The attack seemed quite gratuitous and vicious considering this was Zidane's swan song and there was the distinct possibility that the match was going to wind up in penalty kicks, where Zidane is particularly deadly.

However, I was not on the field, in the heat of the moment, and I have no idea what Materazzi said to Zidane to make him react so strongly.

I think it was: "Hey Zidane! I heard that last night at the hotel a German waiter knocked on your door with room service and you surrendered to him."

Your turn.....

Speaking of over-officiating, there was a wonderful interview with Anne Coulter recently. Her first and only decent guest appearance. I kid you not!

Here's the transcript.

Zidane blew it for France. I was watching the final on a mexican chanel (en vivo per favor) until I saw Zidane being kicked out. Then I decided to go shopping at Fry's Electronics (computer delikatessen). I knew he had already blown it.

I'm tired of football. My father was a french professional footballer during the late 60s and early 70s. Then he decided to get his dick stuck into a pussy to give birth to me. I wish he had gone back to footbawls sometimes... LOL

Love ya Robbie.
(as a friend).

It was the "surrender" joke wasn't it? :)

World Cup and only World Cup on this thread.

"thanks for being our guests" - isn't that a great slogan to wave farewell!?!? After all, one thing is true: Germany had won the World Cup (whole Germany, not the team ;-) ) - and as far as i remember, many/most of the games of this World Cup were really first class, David often won against Goliath, nearly no hooligans, the whole country laughing and dancing, the winners together with the "losers", the police (international!) smiling and even the (unpaid) Red-Cross-people happy to be there, because "it's such a great feeling"...

only Jens Lehmann, our goalie, looked a little melancholic, because he isn't that young and knows, that this can't be copied or duplicated - what had happened here is unique. They don't say it clearly, but the hint "wonder of bern" says everything: we know it all. Do you remember what i told you about Germany? It's truly the revival of a nation - like a birth a moment full of hope and luck, the whole world full of "good vibrations"...

oh, how i wish you can feel the same in the near future, guys!!!

in penalty kicks, where Zidane is particularly deadly.

and where he was deadly missed - btw: i am glad to have missed that scene - because actually without knowing him really, i like Zidane - and the story reminds me of the Argentinians after they had lost the game. Someone also had said something to someone, i didn't remember who it was and what he said, but it got ugly, too (and it might have been caused the defeat of Germany, because the team truly missed the blocked player). So there remains a vague feeling of intention here

Yay, yippy for you guys.

I glanced at the match a couple of times. Observed that footballers are definitely better looking and more colorful than cricketers, and then went back to watching an artsy flick.

Then I heard tremendous roars of Italy yay and Italy woops and such. :)

This fucking asshole of italian soccer told Zidane "he was a terrorist" and "her mom was a whore".
PSYCHOLOGY? Wonder why they are called terrorists in Palestine?

BTW I am the one who is in favor of the full militarization for the Hamas with tanks, helicopters, and even atomic bombs! And fuck France.

WHERE IN THE HELL IS JMF?? ... ==== C'est moi, mon ami!.Sorry, I thought you knew about the moniker change -- I underwent a minor identity shift a while ago (on GS) and have been Nemo ever since. It's strictly attributable to the Latin ["no one"], which has all sorts of interesting ramifications. (For instance, Monsiuer Mannnure, who largely inspired the name, has recently taken to malingering over at Again's blog. And in at least one thread there he's quite literally arguing with "no one".) ;-)

FUCKER :) I was going to email you. Call me at 702-***-2***! LOL
No I had no idea 'bout that, I honestly did not follow the blog, health's problems first, then my own problem, then my own blog, then some kind of disagreements in here.
Check out my blog.... about SCOTUS.

Also please check out this blog:
There is a reason behind it... this blogger not only has some balls (it's a SHE) but she has power, more power than GWB. And GWB will be drained by the hair to the ICC.... honestly. With or without the american people. Now that is scary.

Lately I have Palestinians on my blog. I did advise the Hamas to be fully militarized. I think Palestinians are getting inspired :)
