Bob Corker's mother is a stupid bitch

________________________________________________

In his latest political add for U.S. Senate, former Chattanooga Mayor Bob Corker is shown in a conversation with his mother.

Momma Corker opens the commercial by saying in her idiotic drawl "You've got to be tough on crime, you've got to be tough on the Middle East, you've got to be tough on airplanes."

Bob goes on to brag about how he cut crime in Chattanooga by 50% while he was Mayor. This is a blatant lie, but it's Mom with whom I've got a bone to pick.

Note: I would never go after the family of any public figure until they put themselves into the public eye in ridiculous campaign adds for their incompetent offspring. Then they're fair game.

My question to you Momma Corker is exactly how would you like to get tough on the Middle East? And do you mean the entire Middle East, including all of the innocent men, women, and children who just happen to live there? Perhaps you think that there are no innocent people in the Middle East? Is the Middle East to you simply a large , sandy area filled with with nothing but trouble makers?

Gotta keep them darkies in their place, right Mom?

How, dear Mother Corker would you suggest we " be tough on the Middle East"? Would you suggest that perhaps we should invade and occupy two nations while supplying weapons to another nation in the region to attack and invade a third while threatening a fourth and fifth?

Do you consider that to be "tough"?

And what exactly is it that you have against the poor airplanes? Do we have airplanes sneaking into the country to try and find immigrants to hijack and fly into buildings? Or maybe airplanes are wanting the right to marry? What is it Mother Corker that troubles you so about airplanes?

It's bad enough that we have another mental midget with a grating drawl trying to pass his ignorance off as charm and competence, but to bring his mother and her thinly veiled racism into it is even worse. Just goes to to show which side of the family Bob got his smarts from.

I'm just tired of all of these political adds. I'm tired of the childish, lowest common denominator-seeking lies and innuendo. My God, you people are supposed to be our leaders!

Is this the best we can do?

Update: I've been trying to find the add online so I can show just how condescending and offensive it is, but as of yet, no luck. If anyone happens to run across it, send me a link.

Bush's anti-Constitutional "Enabling Act" now appears to be a "done deal". See you all at 'Lark Hill' [V for Vendetta]: Detainee Bill Shifts Power to President [New York Times] ==== With the final passage through Congress of the detainee treatment bill, President Bush on Friday achieved a signal victory, shoring up with legislation his determined conduct of the campaign against terrorism in the face of challenges from critics and the courts. ==== Rather than reining in the formidable presidential powers Mr. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have asserted since Sept. 11, 2001, the law gives some of those powers a solid statutory foundation. In effect it allows the president to identify enemies, imprison them indefinitely and interrogate them - albeit with a ban on the harshest treatment - beyond the reach of the full court reviews traditionally afforded criminal defendants and ordinary prisoners. ... ==== ... the bill "further entrenches presidential power" and allows the administration to declare even an American citizen an unlawful combatant subject to indefinite detention. ...

From Glenn Greenwald, with voting details. (Unbelievably, BOTH of my supposedly Democratic Senators voted in *favor* of this outrageous, blatantly Totalitarian "Enabling Act"!!): George Bush's vast new powers of detention and interrogation. ==== The system, clearly, is no longer "broken"; it's totally DEFUNCT!!! See also Greenwald's The legalization of torture and permanent detention, for the drastic, sweeping impact of this draconian "legislation" -- the Bill of Rights is now *officially* shredded, courtesy of "our" would-be legislators.
